BuzzRewarder
About this Lab Experiment
During the development of our com_oauth, an OAuth library component based on Nooku framework, we thought that was a nice idea to build a side-site project using the code to showcase its working status, in a way that not only you could see the code in action, but that may be useful for you too. So the idea of buzzrewarder just kicked in after having used paywithatweet.
We liked the idea very much, but we felt that such system was lacking some important things. So we extended that idea with different campaign methods, good analytics tool, and implemented in just a link more then a branded button, to make it more flexible to be used through socialmedia, as a link can be used not only in a website, but in chats, twitts, statuses, and so on.

Buzz Analytics Made Easy
What will be a campaign without some good analytics tool at your hand... That's why buzzrewarder provide you with a special dashboard where you can track in realtime how your buzz is going and which channels are rocking more, all without having to install any code at all. For example buzzrewarder keeps track to how many followers or friends people publish your buzz message, so you will not only be able to see the amount of buzz, but also it's coverage! Even more: you can download your stats as images, pdf, ... for your own use. Let's get started, joinup, start rewarding your buzz and make it grow!
How does it work?
- Choose Buzz Channel
- A Buzz channel is simply the socialmedia you would like to use for your buzzrewarder campaign. For the moment only twitter is available but we will add more as we go (facebook,...).
Depending on the channel used you will be able to set up three different buzzrewarding campaign: Get Popular / Spread / Promote - Get Popular: Reward people upon following you. Give away freebies, access to special pages, or just redirect to a nice thank you page after someone follows you.
- Spread: Reward people after they share about you.
- Promote: If what does matter to you is the direct word of mouth, try the promote buzzrewarder campaign: allowing you to reward people upon sending direct message to some of their followers.
- Setup Your Campaign
- It's really easy to setup your buzzrewarder campaign! You will be up and running in less then a minute, the only things you will need to provide are:
- Campaign Title: Give a name to your campaign.
- Reward: Provide a short description of your people will get trough your campaign.
- Buzz Message: This is the message that your buzzer will spread out, it's your buzz! Think about it, it must be as short as twitt, and as powerfull as a storm. Think about the reward you are giving them and use it in your buzz message, like "I got a discount coupon for just a tweet, get it too!"
- Buzz URL: this will be the url that buzzrewarder will append to your Buzz Message, so everybody will get a link back to where your buzzrewarder action is going on.
- Reward URL: This is the url that people will be redirected after they spread the buzz for you, it can be an access subscription page, a page where you give discount coupon, special exclusive content, a file to download, just a sweet thank you page, or whatever you can think of.
- Generate Your Code
- Don't worry, buzzrewarder doesn't generates code with fancy iframes, branded buttons, or scripts that you still have to implement in your website. It will generate for you just a special link. Yeah, just a link! You can then use this link with your own buttons, in your own emails, IM chats, blog, forum, website, as per your like. Internet is based on links so it will be your buzzrewarder campaign, as simple as that.
